My fiance’, Kevin, loves homemade soup. Neither one of us is an especially good cook, so making soup is a perfect choice for a lot of reasons. When we make a mistake (and trust me, mistakes will be made) the soup is likely to be salvageable, the recipes are endless, it’s cheaper than ordering takeout and most important, it’s healthier. We’re just going to crack open a bottle of wine and go for it.
I figure as long as we keep it simple, getting in the kitchen will also be fun. Here are a couple of links we look forward to checking out: an oldie but goodie – easy soup recipes from The New York Times and when we’re ready to kick it up a notch, we’ll try these options from How Sweet it Is. The creamy tomato soup with brown butter garlic croutons (pictured above) is at the top of my list!
